Trust

Recently God has put it on my heart to put my whole trust in him. I'm the kind of person who likes to try and do it on my own and when I do that it usually always ends the same way, failure. Because that is the only status we earthly beings can reach on our own.
I always say, "Lord, I trust you whole hardheartedly. I trust that you can do anything!" but then in the long run I never truly trust him to follow through and be there for me, so I attempt to rectify the situation with my own feeble means and I again end in failure. The other day I was reading in James and I got to verse 17 of chapter 2 where it says "Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone." and in my Bible it had a little story that went a long with that:
"...There is a well-known story about a brilliant tightrope artist named Blondin, who pushed a wheelbarrow across Niagara Falls. After he had walked to the other side, the crowed roared with applause at his amazing feet.
He asked a small boy in the crowed if he believed that Blondin could walk back. The boy said, Yes sir! He then asked if the boy thought he could do it with him in the wheelbarrow. The boy said he believed he could do it, to which the famous tightrope walker said, 'Good! Jump in then and I will take you.' The boy would not get in."
This story always gets me because I can relate with that little boy so much! I say to God "I believe you can carry me across on the tightrope." but when push comes to shove I instead would try to walk across myself and fall to my death.
My dilemma was pretty much summed up tonight as I read through Hebrews 10-13 with my team. Hebrews 10:31 stuck out to me the most with my situation, a verse that I had heard and read millions of times before but always thought of it a different way. "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Usually I interpreted that as meaning "It is a fearful thing for a sinner to fall into the hands of a living God with out repentance." Which it does mean that, but when I read it with my current mindset, I realized how it applied to me. It is through our fear in the LORD's almighty power and ability that we are able to let go and land in the hands of a living God who is waiting with outstretched arms. That was pressing on my heart as I was getting ready for bed, and I thought what better way to share it then through my blog :D

MY PUPPET SHOW!

This is my Puppet show that I did for the Children on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday :D

My Bloggin Absence

I have a confession. I have neglected to post anything on my blog! I know, I know you probably already knew that, but doesn't it make it a little bit easier to swallow once I finally admit to it in front of the world wide web and its millions of daily users? I think it does.
Now that that has been said, I must get to the actual blogging stuff before a lynch mob comes knocking on my door because I spent my entire post with some stupid introduction. So here goes
Truth is because I spent so long on procrastinating to write a new post, I am having trouble remembering what I have done. So I am going to have to systematically go through each day (mentally) and write down the highlights.
Let's see...after I went through my mental log of my blog (Yes I know that rhymes but I actually just went through my blog on another tab) I noticed two things. One my last post was on September 15th and two my first ever post on this blog was exactly one month from yesterday making me be in Taiwan for exactly one month. (Fanfare time)
Now that I know when I last posted, I can now go on to writing what has happened since... Oh yes, we went to Meiho University to meet some Vietnamese students and we taught them the Waka Waka dance :D After that Dr. Chen sang a song for everyone and gave us all meals. After lunch we got a tour of the Campus which was really cool! I can't remember much after that for that day, so I'm gonna move on to what else I've done in my blogging absence.
We went to Boys town where we all played basketball with the boys who live there. It was really neat hanging out with those boys, they are so full of joy! After we finished there we said our goodbyes and I left with a heart full of joy and a severely bruised finger :P We then went and had this really good dessert that is shaved ice topped with fruit. It's REALLY good :D
The next thing we did in my blogging absence was we went to the Kenting beach to meet up with Jared (One of the teachers who had gone there over the weekend for a sabbatical type thing)That beach is awesome, but even more awesome then the other time because we had a bunch of friends with us! We then did some shopping around, which was also fun because... I FINALLY GOT MY COIN PURSE! :D It's got a little elephant on it and I put this little Key Chain thing on it that says Manly Man or Man of Bravery in Chines3
Oh! HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN! We went to Kaohsiung the other night with some friends to go to Burger King and go to the Kaohsiung Nigh market! That was awesome! We met up with some Taiwanese who talked with us because they wanted to practice English. We also bumped into some European students who wanted to talk with us because we were the same :P (Silly French JK) I aslo got a neat bag
Now to get to more recent history. Three other teachers and I went to another EV at Tang Lung to teach for three days in a row. One half day, and what was supposed to be two full days. However, the school that was supposed to come in the afternoon on the last day came on the afternoon of the second day, so we had twice as many students that day! However (as Twila Paris is saying in my ears as I am writing this now) God is in Control and he worked it out so that nothing wrong happened. :D What was I teaching You may ask, I was teaching in the room called "Toy Repair Shop." In that room is a big Puppet Show stage and a bunch of Puppets. So I decided that I would do a Puppet show which has gone AWESOMELY! :D I couldn't have asked for a better turnout and I thank God for his faithfulness to show that he is in control in EVERY situation! :D
And that is what I have been doing in my blogging absence. I was so tired last night that I went to bed at like 9 something and woke up at like 10 a nice 12 hour sleep for a awesome packed week! :D What am I going to do now? Go get some lunch of course :D

THE BANK OF FUUUUUUUUUUUUUHN!

Today we taught again at the E.V. except we were teaching in the Bank. What you basically do in there is teach the children English by playing a game called E.V. Land which encompasses a bunch of different games (i.e. Charades, Rock Paper Scissors ect. ect.) In the beginning of the first class the other teacher, Jared, said to the Children.
"We are in a bank. And what do you do in a bank? You get money! Do you play games in the bank?"
-Blank stares-
"No! But we do!"
and then I jumped in and said "WELCOME TO THE BANK OF FUUUUUUUUUUUUUHN! Where you can get a loan of Joy and Happiness!"
And then we proceeded to play the game and did the same thing for the other two classes that day. It was awesome, they laughed, they cried, they cheered! It was awesome!
After that we came back home then went to the other E.V. so that we could right a lesson plan! After that we came back and I slept for like an hour, then we had dinner and went bowling with some friends!

First day of School!

So today we taught some classes at the Nan Jung English Village and it was... wait for iiiiiiiiiiiiiit! AWESOME! I started out in the Cafe with one of the other Teachers. We basically had to teach them some vocabulary words about food and then teach them how to make a PB&J. The funniest part about that was that they find putting Peanut butter and Jelly together repulsive and they resist at all costs! :P But of course we told them it's good and finally they'll eat it, and most of them like it in the end. Then we played Hangman with the vocabulary words we taught them. The first group was really smart when it came to English and they were getting everything, but then the next group gave us blank stares throughout the class. It was hard at first, but they are actually funner (Yes that's a word, I'm an English Teacher) to work with because you have to get really animated and... loud :P after two more classes of equally enlightening blank stares as was found in the second class, we went to lunch time. Oh and one of the periods all the Children lined up and asked for my autograph! After lunch we went to the next room and taught children about Photography. I was really stoked about the Cafe because of the food, but when it came to the photography... let's just say my first class kinda bombed in the beginning :P They were so confused! But finally I got around all the confusion and we got to the part where we got to dress up and take pictures with the kids... THAT WAS AWESOME! At first they were shy, but then once you start putting on ridiculous things, they start to laugh and giggle amongst themselves and then they start dressing up. Then during the picture parts some of the kids do the funniest poses! The other classes got easier as we learned a method of teaching the classes, and of course I was praying that God would help me through it after what happened the first class! After school was over we did some shopping, then we went to a place called Donutes (I know, that's not how you spell donuts) and hung out with some friends. Now, I shall go to bed...

Oh for all you Patch the Pirate fans out there, I was able to sing the song "A peanut butter and Jelly sandwich" song :P

I have Internet now

There are many reasons why not having Internet has been a real downer these past two weeks, and those reasons are as follows: Not being able to communicate with friends and Family back home, having a gazillion emails piled up, people thinking you died, Ect. But there has also been some positive things that has happened, mainly the fact that we have had to have some real team bonding time because we didn't have internet. So I guess what I first saw as curse because I was having trouble with my internet, was actually a gift from God, or rather an answer to the prayer we had asking God to unite us as a team for Christ. (Plus I got to learn some dance skillz :P)
